Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2’s open multiplayer beta runs at 900p on Xbox One and 1080p on PS4 – the same resolutions as the original game, according to a report on

GearNuke.

Shadows also render at a greater distance on PS4, the website claims, while there’s said to be “more aggressive” pop-in found in the Xbox One version.

The site also states that lower quality textures are occasionally rendered on certain vehicles in the Xbox One version, but speculates that it may be due to a bug as “it doesn’t appear to be in effect in all the comparisons. Hopefully this is fixed in the final version of the game,” the site says.

It isn’t yet known whether the resolution will be increased for the final game, but with earlier EA betas, including last year’s Battlefield Hardline and Star Wars Battlefront, maintaining their resolution through to the final release, you probably shouldn’t expect it to improve.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 25. The beta, meanwhile, is due to end later today.
