Despite what was thought to be earlier plans to the contrary, PlanetSide 2 will not be region-locked.
Writing on his official Twitter account, SOE head John Smedley stated the team is in the process of finding a way to allow users to freely choose what server they wish to be on regardless of region.
“We’ve come up with a plan to allow ALL players to play on any servers they want. More details to follow.”
This news comes after fan concern emerged when ProSiebenSat.1 and Alaplaya were said to be handling EU servers as part of a partnership deal.
Many deduced from this that EU and US servers would be segregated.
