The first major content update for PES 2016 will launch this Thursday, bringing the long overdue team roster refresh along with a host of additional game elements, Konami has confirmed.

The update will be automatically downloaded and added to the main game, with all team rosters updated in line with current registered squads – including all new signings plus the addition of any youth players that have been allocated shirt numbers.

Player form will also be updated and refreshed as part of Konami’s weekly update files.

Also implemented in the update will be new French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 kits, kits of the top two Spanish leagues and new Serie A Italian kits.

Other clubs to gain official kits include FC Groningen, FC Utrecht, Galatasaray, Panathinaikos, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Independiente, Newell’s Old Boys and Vélez Sarsfield.

A number of dedicated kits for UEFA Champions League and Asian Champions League have also been added.

More than 70 players have also been updated using the PES ID system to bring new realistic models to the game. Updated player likenesses include Luuk de Jong, Yevhen Konopolyanka, Jordon Ibe, Danny Ings, Joshua Kimmich, and Burak Yilmaz.

Fans of real world boots will be pleased to see new additions from adidas, Mazuna, New Balance, Nike Football and Umbro.

The update is the first of many planned by Konami over the course of the year.
