Atlus has lifted the wraps off something called Persona 5: The Royal for PlayStation 4, which we can assume is an updated version of the critically acclaimed JRPG previously hinted at under the moniker Persona 5 R.

There's not much info to go on right now, although Atlus is promising to drop fresh details on April 24, which also happens to be the same day as Japan's Persona Super Live concert.

According to a translation by Gematsu however, Persona 5: The Royal may feature a new female character, although whether she's friend or foe remains to be seen. Either way, she's not a fan of the Phantom Thieves, apparently.

Atlus is known for pumping out updated versions of its games. Persona 4 received an updated version for PlayStation Vita called Persona 4: The Golden, for example, so it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine they're going down a similar path for Persona 5.
