Persona 5 will release in Japan on September 15, Atlus has announced. The game will ship simultaneously on PS3 and PS4, although a western release date has yet to be confirmed.

A 20th Anniversary Edition will also be available featuring a copy of the PS4 game, bonus DLC, an art book and a 5-disc soundtrack album filled with a selection of tracks from all five games. It isn’t yet known whether the edition will be available in the west.

The date pins Persona 5 two weeks ahead of rival RPG Final Fantasy XV, which releases worldwide on September 30.

Persona 5 had originally been due to release on PS3 in winter 2014, but was pushed back to 2015 following the announcement of a PS4 version. It was later delayed to 2016 to make sure that it could live up to the “expectations of fans”.
