Following the news that it managed to ship 1.5 million worldwide, Persona 5 gets some more good news as it enters the UK Top 40 in first place this week. UKIE confirms that it’s ‘by far the biggest launch for a Persona title and the first ever All Formats No1 for developer and publisher Atlus.’
Persona 5 is the first JRPG to debut at the top of the charts since Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch in 2013. So it’s done pretty well.
The rest of the charts has been shaken up a bit. Mass Effect: Andromeda has dropped down four places to fifth, after hanging on to the top spot for two consecutive weeks. Ghost Recon: Wildlands and LEGO Worlds maintain second and third respectively, but GTAV has managed to climb, yet again, and is now in fourth. LEGO City Undercover entered at eighth this week, having been re-released for PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.
The top 10 for the week ending April 8 2017 is looking like this:
- Persona 5
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
- LEGO Worlds
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Mass Effect: Andromeda
- FIFA 17
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- LEGO City Undercover
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Overwatch
