Overkill Software has given an update on the progress of Payday 2 for the Nintendo Switch, and also showed off some footage of the game in action in a newly released video.

Payday 2 was originally announced for the Switch back in April with a release date planned for ‘this winter’, and since then it had all gone quiet leading some people to wonder when, or if, it’s actually coming to the hybrid console.

Overkill has reassured Switch owners that Payday 2 is still coming  in the update video that you can watch below, and while Overkill doesn’t give away any clues as to exactly when the game will be released, the developer says that it’s still coming this winter.

Payday 2’s producer, Almir Listo, says in the video that there’ll be a ‘special treat’ for all Payday 2 Switch players, and that more info will be revealed at a later date.

The video briefly shows the game running in portable and tabletop mode, and Listo confirms that the Switch version will come with a redesigned UI as well as touchscreen support.
