We finally have a gameplay trailer for Paranormal Activity Threshold which should be one of your most anticipated horror games because it comes from the developer behind the fantastic Mortuary Assistant. The gameplay trailer was revealed during publisher DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase 2025 livestream, and it shows off found-footage gameplay full of spooks and puzzles.
The game stars couple Daniel and Jessica in a house with more than meets the eye. To unravel all the spooky shenanigans, you will explore multiple timelines, and you will need to bravely pursuit and communicate with the paranormal activity. Like the Mortuary Assistant, there will be multiple endings, and you will need to perform demonic rituals that determine your fate.
While the trailer has some frights, it admittedly looks a bit rough with outdated graphics. The environment itself looks realistic enough, but the character models have been hit by the ugly stick. Still, it was the same with the Mortuary Assistant, and the rough visuals didn’t matter at all.
All the anticipation surrounding this game stems from what developer Darkstone Digital achieved with the Mortuary Assistant in 2022. It’s a fantastic horror game full of unique and disturbing scares, and it was so good that the Mortuary Assistant was immediately picked up to become a movie. If you haven’t played it already, you definitely should as it’s one of the best horror games you can play for Halloween.
There’s no release date for Paranormal Activity Threshold, but it is touted for 2026. You can wishlist it on Steam right now, but it will come to multiple platforms with those set to be announced in the future.
