How to vote for Game Awards 2025
While Bucky has shared their own picks, you too can vote for The Game Awards 2025. Simply visit The Game Awards’ website and choose which game you want to win each category. Fairly or not, you should know that public fan votes only make up 10% of the final count, with 90% belonging to a voting jury of industry professionals.
Geoff Keighley’s event is set for December 11. Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is the big favorite to win Game of the Year. Expedition 33 is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director’s GOTY pick, and Microsoft’s Phil Spencer believes it is the year’s best game, too. Sandfall Interactive already won GOTY at Gamescom x Asia in October, and it has overtaken The Last of Us 2 as the most nominated game in Game Awards history.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 deserves all the praise it has received, but there are debates over whether it should be nominated for Best Indie Game and Best Debut Indie. Expedition 33 is nominated for GOTY at the Indie Game Awards on December 18, so regardless of feelings, Geoff Keighley’s show is not the only one to categorise Expedition 33 as indie.
Of course, the awards and speeches are great, but the biggest thrill is the surprise announcements and trailers. Nothing is specifically leaked for The Game Awards yet, but there are leaks for a Ubisoft battle royale “heavily inspired” by Apex Legends. There are also more leaks for Silent Hill Townfall releasing in early 2026, but this could be announced well before The Game Awards.
