A picture of the PAL box for Red Steel popped up on gaming blog Kotaku yesterday. Nothing really newsworthy there you say, but the pictured box clearly stated that the game was only compatible with EDTV and HDTV displays.
If the labelling was correct the game would suddenly become incompatible with the vast majority of PAL televisions, most of which do not have support for 480p.
Pro-G contacted Ubisoft for the definitive answer and PAL gamers looking forward to Red Steel can now breathe easy. A Ubisoft UK rep told us that the label on the box “was a mistake” and that “the game is compatible with all TVs and not only HDTV.“
Red Steel will be available in the UK from December 8 alongside the Wii.
