Overwatch has been patched to support PS4 Pro, although it isn’t yet clear what the update does.

Support for Sony’s new console was introduced via a major new 2.0 update released yesterday, but Blizzard’s patch notes don’t offer any indication as to how the game has been enhanced, simply stating that they’ve “Added PS4 Pro Support”.

An early report on NeoGAF suggests that the game’s UI may have been updated to run at native 4K, with the game itself still running at 1080p. I’m downloading the patch on our PS4 Pro now and will update with any findings once it’s ready. UPDATE: As the NeoGAF user says, initial impressions suggest that menu text may have been updated to display at a higher resolution, although the game itself does not appear to have received any bump in image quality.

As well as Pro support, the 2.0 patch is also said to improve load times and rebalance XP, making it slightly easier to rank up to level 100. There have been some other balance changes, too, including an increase in bullet damage for Soldier 76, and changes to the cooldown time for D.Va’s mech.

For the full list of changes head through to Blizzard’s forums.
