Codemasters is preparing for the release of the enhanced PS3 version of Overlord on June 20, which has gained the sub-title Raising Hell to mark the differences between it and the original Xbox 360 and PC versions. The good news for gamers is that a demo is available today on the PlayStation Store. To accompany it PS3 owners also have access to wallpapers and themes.

The demo takes place in Mellow Hills and sees you taking control of a gang of minions, ever willing to obey your command. As the Overlord you can instruct them to do as you wish, no matter how evil, including a fight with the Guard Troll at the Salve Camp. No creature or human is safe.

Today’s demo is just a small part of what the full game will offer, which will allow you to command armies of up to 50 minions across five kingdoms. Raising Hell also includes an extra set of levels not seen in the original Xbox 360 and PC release, which are said to take gamers deeper into Overlord’s warped world.

The PS3 game will include online co-operative pillaging, split-screen head-to-head play, enhanced visuals and 7.1 surround sound, as well as a new on-screen mini-map. Look for a full preview very soon and a review close to the June 20 release date.
