An astonishing 28 billion zombies have been killed in Valve zombie kill-em-up Left 4 Dead 2.

In a blog post on Valve’s official site, the developer put the eye-watering number into perspective, saying if the entire population of planet earth had been turned into zombies, it would have been killed 4.26 times.

“In the first two months of Left 4 Dead 2’s release, 28,981,249,043 zombies have been shot, bludgeoned, chainsawed and killed – or, for our younger readers, taken to a farm where they can frolic and shuffle around forever,” said the dev.

“In short: That is a bucketload of dead zombies. Nice job, everyone.”

We reckon at least, say, a few thousand of the kills are the result of our FPS skills. It’s no surprise – Left 4 Dead 2’s great.
