THQ Nordic has wasted no time in snagging more IP under its belt after hoovering up multiple franchises last year, with Outcast now officially part of the family.
The publisher confirmed in a press release that it has acquired the IP from the series' original three creators, with the acquisition being handled by THQ Nordic AB, which is based in Sweden. Right now there's no immediate plans for a new Outcast, although hopefully things will change soon enough.
Outcast celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and sees players exploring an alien world known as Adelpha while in control of ex-US Navy SEAL, Cutter Slade. The game was remastered in 2014 for the PC and later remade as Outcast: Second Contact for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
THQ Nordic acquired a number of IPs last year, including Alone in the Dark, Kingdoms of Amalur, and TimeSplitters.
