Codemasters has announced that Onrush will be getting an Open Beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 17.

The teaser will give players access to a tutorial and single-player mode, plus various multiplayer-based shenanigans such as co-op and competitive races. The best part? You can carry over your progress (i.e. levelling up) to the full version of Onrush when it launches this summer.

Onrush is being developed by a new studio at Codemasters made up of former Evolution Studios talent, the Sony-owned studio that worked on the MotorStorm and DriveClub franchises.

The Open Beta will run from May 17-20, although you can get in on the action early on May 15 if you pre-order the adrenaline-pumping racer.

Onrush is pencilled in for release on June 5 and sees players strapping themselves into the seat of a diverse range of vehicles, including cars, bikes, and off-roaders. You'll then speed across a number of bumpy, hilly locations while attempting to rake in points by performing stunts and other daredevil techniques.
