Bizarre Creations has announced that there are now more than one million combined leaderboard entries for Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 1 and 2. The first game was released in November 2005 and the sequel arrived on Xbox LIVE Arcade in July 2008.
Bizarre says it’s not possible to tell whether these leaderboard entries equate to one million real life people, seeing as it’s possible to have multiple accounts on your Xbox 360 which are used by a single person. The developer also notes that there’s also going to be a lot of people who own both games and have a leaderboard entry on each.
Despite all this, one million leaderboard entries is still a massive milestone and one the series well deserves.
