Capcom has announced that Nintendo DS action adventure title Okamiden, the follow-up to the acclaimed Wii title Okami, is to be released across Europe in 2011.

The game takes place a few months after the events of Okami and follows the adventures of Chibiterasu – a young sun god, and child of Okami’s Amaterasu. Chibiterasu is summoned to protect the land and must join forces with a cast of characters – many of whom will be familiar to fans of Okami – to fight off a new threat that has leached the world of its vibrant colour.

Using the DS stylus, players will wield a celestial brush controlled by Chibiterasu. This powerful tool can attack enemies, paint helpful objects and structures into existence and help Chibiterasu perform exceptional feats that will change the world. Chibiterasu’s partners in the game will have unique abilities of their own that help the player conquer puzzles.
