Oddworld Inhabitants has announced that Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is heading to Nintendo Switch.

The developer confirmed the news in a post on Twitter, although didn't share any further details such as a release date. However, it did reveal the game will be playable at EGX 2018, which kicks off in Birmingham, UK on September 20.

Stranger's Wrath was originally released in 2005 on the Xbox, and was later given a high-definition makeover by studio Just Add Water for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita around six years ago.

The game features a mix of third and first-person perspectives, with players controlling the titular Bounty Hunter as he attempts to pay for a life-saving operation by hunting creatures in exchange for cash, known here as 'moolah.'

It was a bit of a departure from the first couple of Oddworld game starring Abe, but still found an audience and managed to attract rave reviews at the time. We thought it was pretty decent, too.

Sadly, the original Xbox version failed to set tills alight, selling around 600,000 copies as of 2012. Lorne Lanning later said that the game really needed to flog around 1.6 million units just to break even.
