Nvidia’s Kepler architecture found in GPUs which power games consoles and gaming PCs will soon be available on mobile devices with the release of the Tegra K1 processor.

Billed as an “impossibly advanced” processor, K1 features an Nvidia 4-Plus-1 quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 CPU, plus a third-generation battery-saver core to deliver improved performance and battery life.

For the first time ever, Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 is now able to run on a mobile platform.

“It’s simply inappropriate to call it Tegra 5, it’s simply not linear,” commented Nvidia co-founder and CEO Jen-Hsun. “We’ve brought the heart of GeForce and the soul of Tesla to mobile computing.”
