We first caught official word of a new range of ‘Super’ GPUs to add to Nvidia’s Lovelace roster earlier this month. Just a few weeks after these cards were announced, the RTX 4080 Super which is the last and most impressive one in the range, dropped.

It is already proving impressively popular, too. There were 22 days between the announcement and the launch of the card, and just 10 minutes between that launch and the card appearing as sold out on some retailers’ sites. Do not lose hope though, most retailers such Newegg still have some version of the card in stock even if Best Buy has completely sold out. For how long, we can’t say. so we’d recommend acting fast if you know you want to purchase the new card.

If the RTX 4080 has piqued your interest but you aren’t quite sure if it’s the right card for you, check out our comparisons of the RTX 4080 Super Vs RTX 4090, and vs the RX 7900 XTX to see how it slots into a crowded GPU market.

Looking at our comparison of the RTX 4080 Super vs RTX 4080, it’s not hard to see why the card is selling so well. The 4080 Super in some ways bucked the trend of the other Super cards. All of them have been more powerful than their non-super counterparts, but the RTX 4080 Super is the only card among the line=up to undercut its predecessor on price too. The normal RTX 4080 has an MSRP of $1,199, while the RTX 4080 launched today with a must more bearable $999 price tag.

This combination of a power increase with a price drop has placed the RTX 4080 Super firmly among the best GPUs for 4K, as well as the best Nvidia GPUs fullstop.
