Yesterday it was announced that Gear of War will be released on November 12 in North American and on November 17 across Europe. This is still over three months away and it is unlikely there’ll be a pre-release demo – that’s according to Epic Games head honcho Mark Rein.
“I don’t see any way we could do a demo before the game comes out,” said Rein on the Epic Games forum. “We’ve said that before. Demos take a long time to create and polish, and we can’t afford to get derailed like that if we want to have the game in stores by Thanksgiving.“
Rein also pointed towards downloadable content taking priority over a demo release, but noted that it’s “not 100 percent solid so too early to give any specifics.“
Rein didn’t rule out a post release demo though, stating he has “no idea if we’ll do a demo or not after the game ships.“
