There will be no console exclusive characters in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Street Fighter IV, the game’s producer has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

Speaking in an interview from Leipzig Games Convention last week, to be published later today, producer Yoshinori Ono said that he didn’t believe platform exclusive characters was “fair”.

Recently released fighting game SoulCalibur IV includes platform exclusive characters. The Xbox 360 version includes Yoda from Star Wars fame, and the PS3 version includes Darth Vader.

Ono-san said: “Well this is just my policy, but I don’t want to give an exclusive character for any particular console. And that applies to downloadable characters as well. Because it’s not very fair, when you think about this as a board game or a tool. Hidden characters? If we’re going to talk about hidden characters they won’t be hidden any more!”
