Suda 51’s studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, has revealed that it’ll release a new game in its cult hack-and-slash action adventure game series, No More Heroes. No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in 2018 as players take on the role of Travis, the game’s protagonist, as he tries to escape from a video game vortex. 

No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again was announced as part of the Switch’s Nindies Showcase, and heralds the return of the witty and stylish protagonist Travis. The pop-culture reference laden trailer begins with a masked villain, called the Bat, who confronts a Hotline Miami-playing Travis in his trailer. 

No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again takes place seven years after the events of game, and sees the protagonist sucked into a ‘phantom game console’. The only way Travis can escape this console is if he beats all six of its games and defeats all the bosses. The six games are all be based on real games,as a result of a new partnership with Grasshopper Manufacture and other indie developers.

The original game, No More Heroes, came out on the Nintendo Wii in 2008, and followed the travails of Travis Touchdown, a video game and anime fan who accidentally becomes an assassain, sort of.This was followed by a sequel in 2010, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle which continued Travis’s adventures.

No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again will come out in 2018 on the Nintendo Switch.
