Speaking to MCV for the No More Heroes Recommended Extra supplement given away in this week’s MCV magazine, Suda51 has revealed that he intended the game to be developed on Xbox 360.

“Originally, I’d wanted to make this game for Xbox 360, actually. [Marvelous Interactive boss] Wada-san had information about the new Wii and how the new controller would work before it came out, so that’s why he thought I should produce the game on that format,” said Suda51.

It’s a decision the cult video game creator now believes was the right choice.

“At the time, I didn’t really understand why, but after seeing and understanding how it works, I think it was a good choice and the controller works really well with the game,” he concluded.

No More Heroes has been receiving positive reviews in Japan and the US and you can expect to hear what we have to say about the game later this month.

No More Heroes is scheduled for release on February 29.
