Activision has disbanded its Guitar Hero business unit, discontinued development on its Guitar Hero game for 2011 and will no longer release DLC for its Guitar Hero and DJ Hero titles. It will, however, continue to sell existing DLC for the games.

“We will continue to sell and support the DLC track and mix packs that have already been released for @GuitarHero,” said an official Guitar Hero tweet.

“We will release the previously announced DLC track and mix packs for February, but we will not be able to release new DLC packs,” explained another tweet.

While no more Guitar Hero titles are on the horizon, Activision will likely continue to make money on DLC sales for quite some time.
