Speaking during an interview with DualShockers, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 creative director Martin Ka'ai Cluney has confirmed that the upcoming blood-drenched sequel will not feature a day/night cycle.

To be fair, this does make a lot of sense in some ways. Vampires obviously can't survive in sunlight, unless they run around under an old blanket like Spike from Buffy, or obtain a magical gemstone like Angel. Well, you get the point.

Instead, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is 'effectively always 1.30 in the morning,' said Cluney. He added that players will notice that 'everyone’s in bed, bars are still open, but it’s too late for anyone to really do much.'

'We do have ways to push you through the story. You can go to sleep…and sometimes things will happen while you’re sleeping. Other times, you’ll need to sleep, vampires need rest too,' he added. 'So there is no day-night cycle, but we are very much pushing you through time, if not always pushing you through the story.'

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was announced last week for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and is pencilled in for a 2020 release.
