Nintendo announced in its latest earnings report that total sales for the Nintendo Switch consoles have surpassed 4.7 million units as of June 30, which isn’t too bad considering they’re still hard to get hold of. I bet it’d have sold 4.7 million more if they were available. Despite the demand, Nintendo hasn’t increased its overall sales forecast of 10 million. Nintendo also confirmed that the E3 2017-announced Pokemon RPG for Switch would come out sometime in 2018, or later. Vague, huh?

Switch software is doing pretty well also, selling a total of 13.60 million units worldwide (8.14 of those over the last quarter). That equates to an attach rate of around 2.8 games sold per switch, which isn’t too bad a start for the popular wee console.

Nintendo also shared updated sales numbers for its 2DS/3DS family of consoles and the Wii U. 3DS has sold 67.08 million consoles and 335.10 million games. Not at all shabby. The Wii U continues to perform to expectations, selling 13.56 million consoles and 99.97 million games.

The top-selling Switch titles are, perhaps unsurprisingly, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is at 3.92 million, while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is not far off with 3.54 million, 1-2-Switch is currently at 1.22 million and, finally, Arms has sold 1.18 million.

The take out of all of this, there still aren’t enough Nintendo Switch consoles to satisfy demand, with Nintendo promising to increase production to meet that demand, especially in Japan. Also notable is that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a bit of a sales beast, especially when you consider that MK8 Deluxe is essentially a port of the Wii U version, and it came out after Zelda.
