UK consumers will be able to pick up a Nintendo Switch console at launch without the need for a pre-order, Nintendo UK general manager Nicolas Wegnez has told MCV. However, those looking to secure a system may have to shop around.
“It’s true pre-orders are very strong but we still expect Nintendo Switch to be available at some retailers on Day One,” said Wegnez.
And beyond day one, Wegnez says retailers should be provided with regular new Switch shipments.
“We do expect shipments to steadily come,” he confirmed.
Despite the assurance from Wegnez we’d certainly recommend securing a pre-order if you can, so to avoid day one disappointment.
Nintendo Switch launches in just one week, on March 3.
