Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, released only last month as a Wii U exclusive, will make its way to PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 5, Tecmo Koei Europe has announced.

An updated version of 2012’s Ninja Gaiden 3, Razor’s Edge feature additional playable characters, a new gameplay mode, a redesigned battle system with enhanced enemy AI, a Ninja Skills upgrade system, expanded online features including bonus content, and more.

“Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is the most action-packed and feature rich Ninja Gaiden game ever created,” said Yosuke Hayashi, Team Ninja leader. “The brutal combat will challenge the hardest of hardcore Ninja Gaiden fans while also rewarding them with tons of bonus content and new features including three playable female characters, new stages, and three times as many Ninja Trial missions.”

Features:

  • The return of Dismemberment: Razor’s Edge restores enemies’ ability to fight with severed arms or legs, requiring players to stay nimble with their battle strategies.
  • Ayane as a playable character: In previous versions of the game, Ayane appeared only briefly in one cut scene. Now players can help her progress through her own exclusive chapters using a special set of weapons and Ninpo attacks. Kasumi and Momiji will also be playable in Chapter Challenge mode and Ninja Trials co-op play.
  • Character-progression system: Using Karma points earned during gameplay, players can upgrade weapons and Ninpo, learn new moves, increase their HP level and unlock new character costumes.
  • Test of Valor battle areas: Each chapter includes a hidden battle area called Test of Valor. Upon finding hidden Crystal Skulls, players will be transported to these areas to face down waves of enemies and classic Ninja Gaiden boss characters with new moves.

The game will be released at digitally and at retail carrying a reduced asking price. Unfortunately for owners of the original Ninja Gaiden 3, a DLC update won’t be released.
