Tecmo has officially announced the development of Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma for PlayStation 3, with the game scheduled for an autumn release in North America and Japan. A European release will follow.

Recent information from the pages of Japanese magazine Famitsu revealed Yosuke Hayashi, director of the first Sigma, is once again in charge of the project. The game is also said to offer PSN support and a new playable character: Dead or Alive’s Ninjutsu expert Ayane.
