EA has revealed NHL 20 (via XboxAchievements) will bring a lot of changes to the long-running ice hockey series. One of the new additions is called Eliminator, which EA describes as a 'winner-take-all competition inspired by battle royale.'

There are two different versions of Eliminator: Ones and Threes. Ones sees you competing against 80 other players in a knockout tournament comprised of 1v1v1 matches, whilst Threes will feature teams of… yes, you guessed it, three. You're very clever. Sadly, we're not getting 100 angry hockey players on a single ice rink, but I guess this is the next best thing.

EA looks to be bringing some celebrities on to do guest commentary on NHL 20, too, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. GameSpot has reported that EA showed them some materials for the game that included Will Ferrell, Drake, Snoop Dogg and Wayne Gretzky. This now makes me want to hear Alan Titchmarsh or Les Dennis lend their voices to FIFA.

Other things that have been added include Superstar Signature Shots, so players resemble something closer to their real life selves; goaltender AI has been revamped; and Hockey Ultimate Team is adding the Squad Battles from FIFA Ultimate Team.

Have a look at the trailer below to see the cover reveal trailer featuring Toronto Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews, and you can head to the official website to learn about everything else that's in NHL 20.

NHL 20 will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 13.
