A new trailer for Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds has dropped, and it’s all about what awaits players across the weird, wondrous and woeful Halcyon colony.

Great news! Earth’s most distinguished corporations would love to offer you a position of employment on their Halcyon colony. The commute won’t be an issue, as you’re guaranteed residence*, work*, and social hangouts* in the community, and all you need to do is pass a  basic aptitude test. Halcyon accepts the lowest aptitude scores of any Earth directorate colony. Easy!

That’s not all. There is the opportunity for career advancement and travel with the Halcyon colony. Terra 2 was brimming with life and productivity at some point in the past, but now that you’re here, you can fix that right up! Nothing like a can do attitude and a little elbow grease to restore the place, maybe kick out the alien predators stalking the hallways. Monarch is a planet that is ‘gently terraformed’, to be sure that the wildlife isn’t at risk from human activity. In fact, you might be at risk of the creatures scuttling about the sizzling fields! How the tables have turned.

Comedic dystopian narration aside, the trailer showed off a few snapshots of the environments, weaponry, and social interactions that players can look forward to in The Outer Worlds. Rich played a bit of Obsidian Entertainment’s latest game, and he was very on board with its Fallout-in-space vibes. He recounted the wonderful and murderful adventures he got up to here in our preview video

The Outer Worlds for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC will arrive on October 25, and a Switch version will come at a later date. Watch the Halcyon trailer below.
