New Sonic to miss PS3 launch

IGN reports that Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA’s first next-gen Sonic game, will not be available alongside the PlayStation 3 at launch. Instead the game will be arriving in stores in December.

The delay gives SEGA time to test out downloadable content delivery for the game, which presumably isn’t going all that well at the moment. The Xbox 360 version is still all systems go for November – it’s just the quality of the game that Sonic fans need to worry about.
