Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced Scooby-Doo! First Frights, the video game that will complement the upcoming direct-to-video release Scooby-Doo 3: In the beginning.

Described as an action-adventure game, players take on the role of young Scooby-Doo and teenage versions of the newly formed Mystery, Inc. crew to solve their very first cases. After solving each mystery, players can use unlockable character costumes for Scooby-Doo, Fred, Velma, and the rest of the gang to access new areas in every level.

“We are taking the family friendly Scooby-Doo brand to a new level in gaming with a twist on the fan favourite characters,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The game has also been designed with co-op play in mind, allowing players to jump in or out of the game at any time.

Scooby-Doo! First Frights will be released on the Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation 2 in autumn 2009.
