Konami has released a patch for the embattled PS3 version of PES 2008 – but there’s still no word on an Xbox 360 patch.

The patch, which will automatically install the next time you load up the game, supposedly resolves issues with stuttering when playing the PS3 version on standard definition televisions.

While a fix for stuttering experienced in the PS3 version of the game is welcome, Konami is yet to bring word on what every PES 2008 owner really wants – a patch that will sort out the terribly laggy online play once and for all.

In November last year we brought you the news of a patch for both versions of the game which claimed to fix online lag and offline slowdown issues, bringing mixed results.

We caused quite a stir when we published our PS3 PES 2008 review, in which we gave the game a disappointing seven out of 10, mainly due to the offline and online technical problems.
