DICE is recommending PC gamers with an Nvidia graphics card download and install the latest Geforce 285.38 driver.

The new driver promises up to a 38 per cent performance boost in Battlefield 3, compared to previous drivers.

New in Release 285.38

  • Increases performance in Battlefield 3 by up to 38%
  • Improves overall stability and image quality in Battlefield 3
  • Added or updated SLI profiles for Battlefield 3, Dead Island, Diablo III, Dragon Age 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third
  • Fixed a performance regression in 285.27 beta running Crysis 2 (DirectX 9)

Meanwhile, AMD users can expect a new Catalyst driver later this week.

Battlefield 3’s open beta begins September 27 for those with early access keys and two days later for everyone else. The game launches a month later on October 28.
