The New Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL will release across Europe on Friday, February 13, the company has announced.

A price for either console has yet to be formally confirmed, although the smaller model is expected to cost around £155.99. [UPDATE: The New Nintendo 3DS is available to pre-order for £149.99 at GAME, with the New Nintendo 3DS XL coming in at £179.99.]

The release date was first rumoured earlier today after leaked US marketing appeared online.

The new consoles feature a built-in C-stick, upgraded CPU and super stable 3D technology that improves the handheld’s 3D display.

The handheld will launch in North America on the same day. However, according to online reports, the US will only receive the XL model. The regular New Nintendo 3DS will not be available in North America.

The New Nintendo 3DS first went on sale in Japan and Australia last October, with select European fans invited to pick one up ahead of launch last week.
