Today sees the release of six new Command & Conquer 3 maps for the Xbox 360. Available free is Ground Zero, a 1v1 battlefield featuring a huge meteor impact crater.

The bulk of the new content can be found in Map Pack 1. This will cost players 500 Microsoft Points, but does contain five new maps: Black’s Bigger Battle, Tiber River Valley, Frontier Fracas, Tiberium Gardens III and Tournament Desert Redux. The maps range from 1v1 shootouts to gigantic 2v2 showdowns.

Each of the six new maps is playable online and in the single-player skirmish mode.

To accompany the new maps, Xbox Live users will also find a Map Pack 1 developer interview. This is available free and offers players an inside tour of the five new premium maps, detailing some of the key strategies needed to secure victory.

Picture junkies will also be pleased to see a Factions Picture Pack, available for 80 Microsoft Points. It includes four gamerpics: GDI, NOD, Scrin, and the Tiberium EA logo.
