Lorne Lanning has been speaking to GamesIndutry.biz about his studio’s latest project Citizen Siege, a new property developed as a computer generated movie and a video game.

Citizen Siege is described as a “politically edgy sci-fi action thriller“, set in a “new universe where current global conditions are extrapolated into a frightening near future where democracy has all but disintegrated under the rule of global corporatism.

It’s been announced that the movie will be produced by John H. Williams, who is responsible for the Shrek series, and will be directed by Lanning. As for the game, Lanning has revealed that it is currently being seen by several publishers.

Some publishers have seen the game and the response has been fabulous,” said Lanning. “But we want to see more of what the potential synergy between the two properties is before we take specific directions on how the game’s going to be done.

Speaking more on how the movie and video game would relate, Lanning added, “Oddworld has had the chance to create original property that was designed as a film and as a game experience simultaneously. So the two influence one another as they grow. This is an idea that’s being talked about by media companies, but for the most part isn’t really happening yet.

Expect to hear move on Citizen Siege in the months ahead.
