Activision has confirmed that a new title based on the hugely successful Tony Hawk franchise will be hitting stores in the second half of 2009.
The title is still to be officially announced, but speaking during an earnings call last night, Activision Publishing boss Mike Griffith revealed that the new game is expected to appeal to a broader audience.
“We said we would reinvent this franchise from the ground up and we have developed a very innovative and interactive approach for Tony,” said Griffith. “This should allow us to broaden the appeal of skateboarding beyond the core to mass market audiences and take advantage of this cycle’s dynamics.”
Activision is keeping details under wraps for now, but expect the game to be unveiled later this year.
