Paleo Entertainment, an independent development studio in San Diego, has announced the development of Merchants of Brooklyn, an original FPS built using Crytek’s CryENGINE 2 middleware.

Before licensing the CryENGINE 2 for our new project we looked carefully at all our options, and concluded no other engine could produce the kind of AAA quality game we were aiming to develop, nor were any other toolsets as advanced or user friendly as the ones delivered with the CryENGINE 2,” said Troy Latimer, President of Paleo Entertainment

Merchants of Brooklyn (M.O.B.) is an FPS with single and multiplayer elements that takes place during 3100 A.D. Players take on the role of Matteo Savio, Director of Genetics on Planet Paleo.

Paleo Entertainment hasn’t announced any information relating to platforms and a release date.
