A new Elden Ring mod has released on PC to bring back some of the game’s cut content while also making the game more similar to the mainline Dark Souls games. As a harder, less hand-holdy experience, this mod is a must have for fans of FromSoftware’s more difficult adventures.
Elden Ring cut content
Released on Nexus Mods, the new cut content mod brings a tonne of changes to the game. Dubbed “Dark Souls 4” as a gag, the new is designed to be more like the linear Souls games. The new mod has been described as a tool for “those who wish Elden Ring had been made as a true culmination of the previous Souls games, rather than a simplified and unbalanced one.”
Modder Peepoosan, yes, really, has reworked a number of the game’s bosses and enemies. Nearly every enemy now has a better range of sight on the player, can chase across huge sections of the map, and even counter attacks. In terms of bosses, Rennala has 50% extra health, Mogh: Lord of Blood is immune to bleeding and Dragons are now much more powerful.
Of course, the most exciting part of the mod is the addition of cut content from the game. In the first version of the mod, a total of 7 talismans have been added alongside 7 new consumable items. These include series regulars such as Blessed Gems into Elden Ring to be more in line with the Souls games.
Simple installation
For those who want to try out the new cut content mod, it’s an extremely simple installation. In order to install the mod, players only need to setup ModEnfgine and slap the mod files inside the suitably titled mod folder.
