In the latest Bungie Weekly Update the Halo developer has confirmed that Microsoft is building a development team to work on future Halo game titles, the first of which is the collaboration with Lord of the Rings trilogy director Peter Jackson.
Bungie isn’t itself working on the game, but is excited to see what Peter Jackson can bring to a Halo game experience.
The weekly update also notes: “Bungie will, however, continue to remain very much involved in multiple aspects the Halo Universe as part of our ongoing relationship with Microsoft.”
Bungie says it’s currently working on a “variety of projects”, the first of which they promise to tell us about “in the very near future”. The studio also notes that it has other longer term and top secret projects in the pipeline, but don’t expect to hear about these any time soon.
