The 2011 Video Game Awards will feature the return of Alan Wake in an all new adventure, the event’s organisers have announced.

Amongst other exclusives the show will also feature legendary game designer Hideo Kojima who will reveal the truth about Metal Gear Solid: Rising with a world premiere, plus the announcement of a new project and new studio from BioWare.

Spike TV has also announced the nominees for categories, Game of the Year and Most Anticipated Game.

Fans can cast their vote for Most Anticipated Game starting today at VGA.Spike.com.

Viacom Media Networks will simultaneously air the VGAs LIVE on both Spike TV and MTV2, as well as on Spike.com. Internationally, the VGAs will air in over 100 countries and territories.

The event will take place on December 10.
