Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk developer Neversoft is working on a new Call of Duty title, the studio has revealed.

An update on the studio’s website last night revealed that the team is developing a first person action game “in support of Activision’s Call of Duty franchise”.

Various job descriptions across the last 12 months revealed that Neversoft had been working on a first-person shooter, rumoured to be a sci-fi game.

It wasn’t known, however, that it was developing a new game in the Call of Duty series.

Neversoft is now the fifth Activision studio actively working on the Call of Duty series, joining Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software and Treyarch.

The studio previously developed games in the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero series, and open-world western GUN.

Could it be developing this year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified on Vita?

Earlier this week, VideoGamer revealed that Sledgehammer Games was also working on another Call of Duty.
