Update: Upper One Games has announced that Never Alone: Foxtales will be available as downloadable content for the Xbox One, PS4 and Steam (PC and Mac) editions of the game on July 28, 2015.

A new trailer has also been released, which you can see below.

Original report: Acclaimed Inuit adventure game Never Alone will receive its first DLC on July 28, E-Line Games has announced.

Never Alone: Foxtales features three new levels inspired by the Alaska Native story of ‘The Two Coastal Brothers’, as told by Willie Panik Goodwin, Sr. One brother is an excellent hunter and fighter. The other is a strong swimmer. In the story they work together to defeat the main antagonist.

The original game’s characters Nuna and Fox have been recast with new abilities inspired by the two brothers. Nuna can now row and steer an umiaq (a sealskin canoe) and Fox can interact with spirits to change the flow of underwater currents.

The pair’s new abilities also reflect the new Northwest Alaska environment the DLC is set within. A spring setting also brings about new possibilities in game design, such as an Arctic prairie with the first blooms of spring peaking through the snowpack, the rapids and waterfalls of a river fed by melting snow or the subterranean lair of an unexpected new villain.

The DLC is currently only confirmed for PS4.

In addition, the original Never Alone game is coming to PS3 and Vita with an autumn release being targeted.
