Streaming behemoth Netflix has announced that season 2 of Castlevania will begin airing on October 26.

While the first season of the bloodsucking animation series was well received, it was just a bit too short; only four episodes were made, which left fans clamouring for more. Good news, then, that season 2 has double the offering.

Castlevania Season 2 is being penned by Warren Ellis, and sees Richard Armitage (aka Thorin Oakenshield from The Hobbit Trilogy) reprising his role as Trevor Belmont.

Interestingly, Season 3 of Castlevania has already been confirmed by Armitage despite the fact the second helping of episodes haven't even aired yet.

For those who haven't seen it, Castlevania doffs its cap largely to Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, and follows Belmont, the last surviving member of his family, as he attempts to save the nation of Wallachia from the legendary vampire count and his undead legions.

As exciting as this is, I can't help but wish Konami would announce a brand new Castlevania game, as it's been for years since Lords of Shadow 2.
