After a successful debut in the arcades on the Sammy Atomiswave system, SNK Playmore and Ignition have decided to bring the tag team fighter to the PlayStation 2. The game’s roster draws from classic SNK franchises like Metal Slug, King of Fighters, and Samurai Showdown, with a total of more than 40 combatants.
Using a new 2-on-2 Tag Team battle system, players can switch characters during play and perform team attacks on their opponent. The game also features an exclusive new game mode called Tag Play, along with a new playable character you won’t find in the arcades.
“NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, due to the diverse characters and new fighting system, will appeal to all fans of the genre,” says Peter Rollinson, Product Manager, Ignition Entertainment Ltd. “Personally, I can’t wait to team up Marco from Metal Slug and Fuuma from World Heroes…‘
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is scheduled for release on the PS2 in the autumn.
