Neil Patrick Harris will be the host of this weekend’s Video Game Awards, Spike has confirmed.
Neil Patrick Harris! He’s like, King of the nerds. He was Doogie Houser, Carl in Starship Troopers, popped up in Glee last season, plays Barney in How I Met Your Mother, and was pretty ace in Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. And he was the Shoe Fairy in an episode of Sesame Street once.
The celebrity has also lent his voice talents to video games, starring as Amazing Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Wallace Wellesley in Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. Let’s just forget the last one.
Other than dishing out a whole suite of shiny awards, the VGA awards will also feature 13 world premieres. Confirmed to make a showing is Resistance 3 and Batman: Arkham City, alongside a mystery announcement from BioWare that we’ve all been pondering over for the last couple of weeks.
The VGA awards will take place at 1:00am GMT on Sunday 12 December.
I have a slight man crush on Neil Patrick Harris.
