If you can’t get hold of the Xbox 360 Need for Speed Carbon Collector’s Edition in the shops, then you needn’t miss out on all the extra goodies. EA has released the Collector’s Edition Upgrade, which will update your normal version of the game to include all the bonus Collector’s Edition content. For 800 points you get 12 new tracks, 6 new Challenge series missions and 10 exclusive cars! Amongst the new cars are the 92′ Nissan 240 SX, 07′ Jaguar XK, 06′ Camaro Concept and the 06′ Koenigsegg CCX!

The Collector’s Edition Upgrade is actually a nice idea, and does add content to the game. However, EA is back to its usual tricks with a string of purchasable cheats for those of you too lazy to play the game. Here’s a brief rundown:

Performance Drivetrain Bundle – 400 points

Push your car to the limit and beyond with the Drivetrain Bundle. This high-performance package gives you immediate access to all Street and Pro Packages for Engine and Transmission upgrades in the game.

Scream around every turn with total precision with the Performance Handling Bundle, which immediately gives you access to all of the Street and Pro packages for Suspension parts, Brakes, and Tires in the game.

Ultimate Performance Bundle – 800 points

Don’t leave anything to chance. Pick up the Ultimate Performance Bundle to immediately unlock every performance package in the game. That’s right, every package in the Drivetrain, Booster, and Handling Bundle is yours for the taking.

Muscle Car Autosculpt Body Kit – 300 points

For 80 points each you can also buy the 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago, and the 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10. To be clear, EA does state that many of the items available can be achieved without purchase by progressing through the Career mode.
